About Juan
Hello my name is Juan and I am a local Phoenix tennis coach with over 15 years of playing experience! My tennis journey began in Colombia where I competed in COSAT tournaments across South America, progressing to ITF and ATP events as I honed my skills. I moved to the United States to pursue a college tennis career, playing NCAA Division 1 tennis for five years where I faced some of the top collegiate players in the country. After an illustrious playing career, I turned my focus to coaching. I have been a tennis coach for over 6 years, working with both juniors and adults at various ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced competitors. My coaching career started in Colombia, where I helped develop young talent and later expanded to the U.S. where I worked with players of all ages, helping them achieve their goals on the court. My international experience, combined with my expertise in both coaching & player development has shaped my comprehensive approach to training emphasizing technique, strategy and mental toughness. I speak fluent Spanish and English. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills, compete at a higher level or just want to simply enjoy the game, I bring the passion & knowledge to help players achieve their tennis aspirations.
I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be more than happy to help you out with your tennis game!
I teach tennis lessons in the Phoenix area but I will also travel up to 15 miles to a tennis court that is conveniently located close to you.
