About Hugo
Hello my name is Hugo and I am a local Glendale tennis coach with over 16 years of playing experience and over 4 years of teaching experience! I also have a Spanish Tennis Federation Certification. I’m playing for Arizona Christian University in Glendale and have a 11.3 singles and 10.8 doubles UTR (Ultimate Tennis Rating). I started to play tennis when I was 4 years old and I’ve been playing ever since then. I played and trained at the Barcino Tennis Academy and then came to Arizona to combine both studies and sports. Last year, I was nominated with All American Honors and I was also in the Top 11 for doubles in the NAIA (2023). This year (2024), I have been ranked in the Top 8 for singles and also Top 5 for doubles in the nation (NAIA).
I am offering fun private tennis lessons, semi-private tennis lessons, group tennis lessons and hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be more than happy to help you out with your tennis game!
I teach tennis lessons in the Glendale area but I will also travel up to 15 miles to a tennis court that is conveniently located close to you.
